DUI/PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS
Three people face alcohol-related charges following an incident Sunday morning in Indiana Borough.
Indiana Borough Police say they stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Philadelphia Street and found the driver, 36-year-old Andres Acosta of Indiana, under the influence of alcohol. They also discovered two passengers, 27-year-old Eduardo Orellana of Indiana and 20-year-old Ava Boffili of Pittsburgh, under the influence. The two were charged with public drunkenness and underage drinking, while Acosta was charged with DUI.
Acosta and Orellana were placed in Indiana County Jail to await arraignment, while Boffili was released to a sober adult. All charges were filed through District Judge Tony Sottile’s office.
THEFT
Indiana Borough Police have charged an Indiana woman with retail theft following an incident in November.
Officers say between November 25 and 28, 19-year-old Natalie Brenneman failed to pay for several items of food before leaving the store. She was cited for retail theft through Judge Sottile’s office.
