Betty M Barber, 91, of Bradenton, FL (formerly of Homer City) is dancing in heaven, having passed from this life on December 3, 2024. She was born on March 30, 1933 to Lester and Viola Hatten and grew up in Chestnut Grove, Pa. She was formerly a member of the Homer City Alliance Church.
While living in Homer City, she worked at The Pantry at IRMC. After moving to Florida in 1985, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing in-home care of the elderly until her retirement. Betty loved to dance and to put together puzzles. She dressed up for every holiday and had a hat for every occasion.
She is survived by her children: Susan (Melvin) Querry of Blairsville, Butch (Loretta) Barber of Indiana, Tammy Miller of Indiana and Seraphina Ashe (formerly Linda Barber) of Lake Matthews, CA, and by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One sister, Polly Clapsaddle, also survives.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Burt Barber, her second husband, Kenneth Sinnett, sisters Virginia Hoover and Eileen Knox and brothers Charles Trumpower and Clarence Trumpower, and her beloved cat Tinkerbelle.
As she instructed, there will be no services. She chose to be cremated by The Good Earth Crematory in Bradenton. Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services is also providing assistance. Her ashes will be returned to the earth in Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
