Once again, a paving project has been delayed due to expected bad weather.
PennDOT had planned for the Route 422 Eastbound off-ramp to Oakland Avenue/Route 286 to be closed this weekend, but that closure has been moved once again, this time to 6:00 PM May 2nd through 6:00 AM on the 5th. Crews are expected to perform milling, paving and joint sealing operations during that time. A detour will use parts of 422 and 119 to go around the work site.
With the delay, this means that this closure will coincide with the closure of the Route 286 on-ramp to Route 422 east. Similar work will be going on in that area, and the closure will be for the same time frame. For this detour, drivers will use Oakland Avenue to Ben Franklin Road and Business 422 before going back onto 422.
Derry Construction of Latrobe will work on both projects. This is part of a $14.5 million project that is expected to be finished this December.
