Reno Domenic Garonzi, 93, of Homer City, passed away at home on April 22, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1931, to the late Tulio and Elizabeth Garonzi.
Reno was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Club Savoy, Graceton Sportsman’s Club, and Tide Sportsman’s Club. An avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, Reno loved fishing in Lake Erie with his grandson and attending sporting events at Homer City High School.
A United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War, Reno was also a member of the American Legion Post #493 in Homer City. He worked for R&P Coal and Valley Coal and served as a Center Township Supervisor for 12 years.
Reno is survived by his daughter, Debora Rossi, of Homer City; his grandchildren, Brian Rossi (and wife, Alexa) of Homer City and Breanna Rossi of Monroeville; his step-great-granddaughter, Sophia; and his sister-in-law, Jean Bokach of Carrolltown.
In addition to his parents, Reno is preceded in death by his wife, Irene, who passed away in 1997; his two brothers, Bruno and Tulio Garonzi; and his four sisters, Marie Succheralli, Inez Mouser, Florence Pace, and Betty Jean “Jeanie” Blakley.
