Indiana’s Rotary Club is continuing the process to officially disband in two months, and as part of that, the group will fund one or more new initiatives or projects that will make a lasting impact in the community.
The club will consider proposals up to $45,000 towards such projects as a way to maximize the impact of its resources. The awards will go towards programs that reflect Rotary’s values of education, health, economic development and community well-being. Organizations making the request must be based in Indiana County or serve its residents. The grant amounts will vary based on project scope and available funds.
In a statement, Rotary President Dana Henry said that the grants will be their way to give back to the Indiana community one last time before the club ceases operations in June. The club cited declining membership and financial challenges as reasons for dissolving the organization.
Applications are now available on the rotary club’s website, www.indianarotary.org. The deadline to apply is May 2nd.
