Robert David “Dave” Pearce, 62, of Rossiter, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born in Punxsutawney on February 24, 1963, a son of the late Harvey Laverne Pearce and Joan (Mallory) Pearce.
Dave was a 1981 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
On May 26, 1984, he married his sweetheart, Tracy Elizabeth States. They were the best of friends, and true companions for one another for forty-six years, with forty-one years of that time in marriage.
Dave was a dedicated hardworking employee as a machinist at Star Iron Works, Inc. in Big Run for forty years.
He was a passionate coach for A.J. Parise football, where he was more than just a coach; he was a mentor and a role model to young athletes. His dedication to the youth football program transformed lives, teaching not only the game but also values like teamwork, perseverance, and kindness.
His favorite pastime was pheasant hunting, he also enjoyed four-wheeler rides on Saturday afternoons with his son Jake, nephew Billy, and brother Doug. When he was home, he could always be found in his garage drinking coffee. His garage wasn’t just a workspace-it was a gathering place, filled with laughter, and good conversations.
In addition to his wife Tracy, he is survived by two children, Jake David Pearce and Hannah Elizabeth Pearce, both at home; two brothers, Mark Pearce of Florida, and Harvey Douglas “Doug” Pearce and wife Wanda of Punxsutawney; one sister, Jill North of Rossiter; a special nephew, Billy Pearce.
Preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Pearce.
Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by Robin Smith.
