PennDOT has announced two projects will get underway next week in Indiana County.
Repairs to the Route 422 bypass in White Township are scheduled to start on March 31st. Between April 7th and June 13th, 422 between the intersections with Parkwood Road and Route 119 will have a lane width restriction of 11 feet to allow crews to repair the road and bridge, including guiderail upgrades and ramp work. The work will be done by Derry Construction out of Latrobe and will cost $14.5 million. The project will wrap up by the end of the year.
One day later, work will start on a box culvert replacement project on Clarksburg Road in Conemaugh Township. Between April 7th and June 13th, the road will be closed between Hans and Tunnelton roads for work on the Clarksburg bridge. The work will be completed by the end of November. A detour will be set up that will utilize Clarksburg Road, Saltsburg Road and Tunnelton Road. Plum Contracting will work on the $3.1 million project
