Indiana Borough officials are continuing to look at crosswalk safety issues after an accident earlier this month resulted in the death of two pedestrians.
On March 11th, John Forest Reeger and his wife, Loretta, were hit by a box truck at the intersection of 9th and Philadelphia Streets. John was pronounced dead at IRMC while Loretta died 11 days later at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. In an interview on Indiana in the Morning, Borough Manager Nicole Sipos said that officials have met with PennDOT on the topic of pedestrian safety after the accident.
Sipos added that PennDOT is not only looking out for pedestrians, but they are also making sure that traffic flows smoothly.
Indiana Borough Police are continuing to investigate the crash. No charges have been filed yet.
