Elderton officials say it could be a few months before traffic patterns return to normal after a crash on Route 422 in Elderton took out a traffic light.
Armstrong County 911 sent the Elderton Fire Department at 6:55 yesterday morning for the incident at the intersection of 422 and Salt Work Street. A car turned in front of a utility truck towing a trailer, and the impact pushed the truck into a metal light pole, bringing it and the traffic light it was holding down. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle. Two were taken to ACMH for evaluation.
While the road has been cleared, it will take some time to repair the damage from the crash. The intersection has been posted as a four-way stop and will remain that way until repairs are complete.
