The American Red cross is looking for people to become dedicated volunteers.
People are needed to serve in rural communities to respond to local disasters, help out with blood drives, and support community education and outreach efforts. Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania region CEO Jorge (Hor-hay) Martinez said that local volunteers’ knowledge of their neighborhoods combined with the training they receive will do a lot of good for the organization and the community.
Last year, the Red Cross had over 3400 volunteers in the region, and they provided assistance and comfort to families after over 1500 disasters like home fires and floods, along with supporting over 5000 local blood drives.
