Steelers’ special teams ace Miles Killebrew yesterday was named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad as an injury replacement for New England’s Brendan Schooler. It will be Killebrew’s second straight Pro Bowl.
Steelers defensive stalwarts TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, and Minkah Fitzpatrick are also on the AFC team along with kicker Chris Boswell.
Quarterback Russell Wilson yesterday told The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN that he has already had discussions with the Steelers about returning to the team next season. All three of this season’s quarterbacks, Wilson, Justin Fields, and Kyle Allen, will be unrestricted free agents when the new NFL year starts in March. Wilson told McAfee that his “goal is to be with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a long time and, hopefully, finish (his) career there.”
Wilson is set to become a free agent in March. The two other quarterbacks on the Steelers’ roster last year, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen, also will be unrestricted free agents.
