IUP RANKED IN LEARFIELD CUP STANDINGS

IUP’s athletics teams are tied for 71^st place in the NCAA Division II Learfield Directors’ Cup standings after the 2024 fall sports seasons.

Overall, 11 PSAC institutions accumulated at least 25 points to make an appearance in the fall standings, the highest number among Division II conferences. IUP is tied with Bloomsburg for 71^st (75 points), with six other PSAC schools ahead of them.

The women’s volleyball and soccer teams were big vote-getters, with both making the NCAA Tournament appearances.  The volleyball team was credited with 50 points and soccer scored 25.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup awards points based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Championships. The standings are released after the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The next release will be on April 3^rd after the conclusion of winter sports and the final ranking will be released on June 10^th following the spring championship season.

Kutztown leads the contingent of PSAC schools in the standings, with 193 points, good for 10^th place.  Gannon is in 11^th, Slippery Rock is in 24^th, Shippensburg 29^th, East Stroudsburg is 38^th, and Shepherd 53^rd. Cal (84^th), Clarion and UPJ (tied at 126^th) are all listed as well.
