First responders have been busy over the last day.
A brush fire was reported at 5:21 PM on Fitzgerald Road in Center Township. Homer City fire department was dispatched initially, while Aultman fire department was called out eight minutes later. That brush fire was upgraded to a structure fire at that point, and Indiana, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton fire departments and the RIG team were dispatched to assist. Homer City Assistant Fire Chief Joe Iezzi, Jr. said that when crews arrived, they found the owner was performing a controlled burn that only looked big. Crews were quickly recalled at that point.
Late last night, some alarms brought the Indiana Fire Association and police Department out, first for a carbon monoxide alarm on Philadelphia Street at 11:12 PM, then an automatic fire alarm on North 4th Street in Indiana Borough.
Utility Lines were reported down this morning at 5:25 AM on Sportsman Road in Conemaugh Township. Saltsburg fire department was called out. They would be called out six minutes later along with Tunnelton Fire Department to assist EMT’s on High Street.
