Expect some extra traffic today around the IUP campus as the university celebrates the 2024-25 winter commencement.
Graduation Ceremonies will start at 9:30 this morning at the KCAC. Students are asked to arrive no later than 8 AM and must use entrance 21 on the stadium side of the complex. Students must also arrive dressed in cap, gown, hood and tassels. Doors will open for family and friends a half-hour later at 8:30. Designated parking lots near the ceremonies and across IUP campus will be available at no charge today, and there will be shuttles available.
This morning’s ceremonies will recognize 563 students. 324 of them will receive their bachelor’s degree, with 202 masters degrees awarded along with 33 doctoral degrees and four associate degrees. IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll will preside over the ceremony. The undergraduate speaker will be Victoria Albert, an anthropology-archaeology and religious studies double major from Ebensburg, while the graduate student speaker is Adriana M. Guth-Borowski, who earned her master’s in English.
