A slow-moving superload is going to be on some roads in Indiana, Jefferson and Westmoreland counties as it makes its way to its final destination in Allegheny County today.
PennDOT reports that the 136 foot long, 28 foot wide and 150-ton load will enter Pennsylvania on I-80 from Ohio, and travel until it gets to Brookville. From there, it will take State Routes 36, 436 and 119 to get to Indiana County. It will then go to Route 22 near Blairsville, and will stay on 22 as it goes into Westmoreland County and into Allegheny County.
Southern Pines Trucking will handle the hauling of the item. No timetable for travel was released, but drivers are asked to be cautious. The rolling slowdown will use two lanes of traffic and go 25-30 miles an hour or slower when needed, so that could result in traffic stoppages and travel delays. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes today.
