The Biden administration has issued a disaster declaration for four Pennsylvania counties that were affected by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby on August 9th and 10th. Indiana County did not make that list.
The action will make federal aid available to affected people in Lycoming, Potter, Tioga and Union Counties in the north-central areas of the state. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs.
Those four were part of a list that included eventually 28 counties under a state disaster declaration by Governor Josh Shapiro after the storm worked its way across the state. Flooding was reported in the Clymer area as Two Lick Creek went over the banks for the second time this year. That disaster declaration expired after 21 days per a state constitutional mandate.
