Clymer Borough Police have charged a local man with obstruction of the law or other governmental functions, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest for an incident during the flood earlier this month.
On August 9th, when a state of emergency was in effect, police were called out to the 500 block of Sherman Street for a report of a man floating around in an inner tube in the water. The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Ricky Wilcox and police ordered him out, but he refused to cooperate. Officers had to bring him in, and he resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground.
Police say that Wilcox’s actions put first responders in unnecessary risk of injury or death. Charges were filed through District Judge Christopher Welch’s office.
