Several criminal call hearings are scheduled in Indiana County Court today, with one being for a man charged with vandalizing a cell at the county jail in May.
Khalil Santella, who has been in Westmoreland County Jail since June 17, was charged after state police said he was at Indiana County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing on DUI and drug charges for an incident May 17th, when he damaged a sprinkler system and his mattress, which totaled $203 in damages.
Criminal Call is designed to update the court and the parties involved on the progress of a case. Proceedings are normally postponed to a later date, but on occasion, guilty pleas have been entered at the criminal call phase.
