Jury selection for the case of a Seward man charged in connection with a crash that killed an Indiana man has been continued
Court documents show that 29-year-old Patrick Walker is charged with homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while DUI, two counts of DUI and two summary driving charges in connection with the crash reported on September 7th of 2019 that killed 26-year-old Daniel Rodkey. Police say that the crash was reported in the 2100 block of Shellbark Road in East Wheatfield Township. When the police arrived, they found a blue Tesla Model S in a dense wooded area, with several trees damaged by the car going through. A beer can was found in the car, and there was also major damage to the passenger side and a large hole where Rodkey was seated. He was found dead outside the vehicle and under one of the front wheels. Police identified Walker as he was receiving treatment on-scene and followed up with him at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. A legal blood draw showed that he had amphetamine and alcohol in his blood.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi said that the defense had asked for the continuance. No word yet on when jury selection will take place.
