Pirates No. 3 prospect Bubba Chandler could return to action soon after a brief stint on the injured list. He was removed from his start May 7th with a forearm issue and placed on the 7-day IL as a precautionary move, but he threw a bullpen session May 24th and experienced little-to-no issues. Director of Sports Medicine Todd Tomczyk expects Chandler to return to in-game action “soon.”
Meanwhile, the Curve return to PNG Field to open a six-game homestand with the Portland Sea Dogs tonight. RHP Sean Sullivan (0-4, 2.66 ERA) starts for Altoona. Portland has not announced their starter.
