Two drug dealers were sentenced yesterday in Indiana County Court on Friday.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that 34-year-old Amber Lynn of Blairsville was ordered to serve between five and 17 years in a state correctional facility for four cases. The first case involved members of the PA Attorney General’s Office and Indiana Borough Police making a controlled purchase of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl as part of the work of the county drug task force. The second case included the search of her apartment by State Police after they received word she was selling drugs there, and found xanax, heroin, meth and fentanyl. The third case involved Lynn being taken into custody at her apartment and discovered more drugs there. The fourth was a traffic stop just before her arrest, where she was driving under the influence of drugs.
Manzi also announced that 42-year-old Melissa Smith of Montgomery Township was sentenced to 27 to 60 months in prison for an open guilty plea to possession with intent to distribute less than a gram of fentanyl as part of an investigation on May 5th of 2022. On that day, state police made a controlled purchase of narcotics from Smith using a confidential informant.
In his statement, said that authorities and his office “will continue to vigorously investigate and prosecute any drug dealing in our county. I hope that other drug dealers change their ways before they face lengthy state prison sentences themselves.”
