Wednesday morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved some motions concerning the demolition of the former Alice Paul House Building.
At the request of the County Office of Planning and Development, commissioners approved reallocating $7,758.10 in Act 13 impact fee money from 2014 and $7,720.90 in reserve funds used for purposes in 2012 to fund the demolition project. Commissioners also awarded the project’s contract to Site Pro Services, LLC from Indiana as they submitted a low bid of $30,043.60.
Planning and Development Executive Director Byron Stauffer said that they plan to tear the building and site pad down to the grass, and while there are no plans for it currently, Stauffer said the site would be ready for future use.
In other business, the Commissioners approved a grant application for $111,434 in Indigent Grant Program money to be used to assist in budgeting items for improvements and purchasing case management/tracking software.
