The Indiana County Commissioners have approved a modification to their ongoing opioid lawsuit.
The consortium of governments that have sued opioid manufacturers distributors and others reccomended adding Pharmacy Benefit Managers Express Scripts and OptumRx and their relevant subsidiaries to the lawsuit. The companies are two of three companies with the largest maket share in the United States, along with CVS. Robert Marcus, who represents the county in the opioid lawsuits, said that more work needs to be done to mitigate the opioid problems the county has, and talked about some of the evidence against the companies in the lawsuit.
The amendment is pending further court approval.
