Sunday turned into a busy day for Indiana County first responders.
The first call for service came at 6:16 AM for a vehicle accident reported on Route 422 East in Cherryhill Township, which brought state police and Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Department to the scene.
A structure fire was reported on Matty Road in Washington Township at 2:22 PM. Plumville, Creekside, Marion Center and Elderton fire departments were dispatched at the time along with the County RIT team.
Indiana Fire Association members were dispatched for two incidents within an hour of each other. The first was for a physical rescue of a dog locked in a car on Rustic Lodge Road in White Township at 5 PM, and the other was a fuel spill on North 5th Avenue in White Township at 6:26 PM.
A second vehicle accident was reported at 6:26 PM on Route 286 in Green Township that brought Commodore Fire Department, Citizens Ambulance and state police to the scene. And a vehicle fire was reported at 8:29 PM on Palmerton Road in Burrell Township. While Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments were dispatched along with Citizens Ambulance and State Police, Blairsville crews were cancelled en route.
