Manager Derek Shelton says his hitters to step up.
Shelton says the Pirates had their chances again yesterday but you can’t strand runners on base, especially runners in scoring position.

The Pirates open a nine-game homestand tomorrow night with the first of three games against Colorado, and there could be some roster moves to try to find more offense. In a 14-5 win over Buffalo yesterday, Indianapolis got four hits from Ji Hwan Bae, three from Jake Lamb, and two each from Yasmani Grandal and Liover Peguero. Bae and Lamb are both hitting .391 this season, Nick Gonzalez is batting .374, and Peguero is at .309.
