At a special meeting Friday morning, Center Township Supervisors voted to advertise a vacant tax collector position.
The vacancy came after Monica Jones, who served in the position for more than 10 years, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. It will be open for 30 days and a special meeting will be held next month to name the new tax collector.
Supervisors Chairman Matt Housholder said there is a solution for residents who are paying their taxes while the vacancy is posted.
Interested applicants are asked to send their resume and cover letter to the township building at 1212 Neal Road, Homer City, Pennsylvania 15748.
