The nurses at Indiana Regional Medical Center have voted to have a new union represent them at the bargaining table.
The registered nurses held an election last night to name PA Staff Nurses Allied Professionals as the new union by a vote of 224 in favor, with eight votes against it. This means the union would be the exclusive bargaining representative in the ongoing discussions concerning a new contract. In the past, the nurses were represented by PSEA-Healthcare.
The nurses have been working without a contract for the last five years.
IRMC Chief Growth Officer Mark Richards had the following response to the announcement.
