IUP will hold some community input sessions today for the Indiana Campus Long-Range Facilities Master Plan.
The first session is from 9-10 and is designed for IUP employees, but is open to everyone, and will be held in Sutton Hall’s Blue Room. A second session on those same lines will be held from 11:30 to 12:30. Another session will be held as part of today’s Student Government Association and Graduate Student Assembly meeting. The community session is planned for 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM tonight at the PNC Room at the KCAC.
The plan links the Unviersity’s Strategic Plan to the long-range physical development of the IUP campus over the next 20 years. The university initially employed SmithGroup in 2009 to prepare a comprehensive, long-range facilities master plan, which was adopted in 2010. Updates to the original plan were approved in 2011, 2014, 2017 and last January. The most recent update includes new ideas for IUP’s academic future, right-sizing the campus to include efficiency and appropriate utilization of existing space on campus, the campus community, foot traffic on campus, student success and well-being, and the university’s connection with Indiana Borough.
More information on the plan can be found on IUP’s website.
