No major parties were reported by the Indiana Area Collaborative Team on the Saturday night of IUPatty’s weekend.
In the report released Sunday morning, Indiana Borough Police reported that there was a lot of cooperation and good work by the IUP fraternities in maintaining order at their houses. IUP Police reported 26 calls for service from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Sunday, with four arrests reported, all of them non-students.
Indiana Borough Police said that gatherings were seen in the early afternoon in campus-adjacent locations on Wayne Avenue, South 7th Street and Rice Avenue, but many of those gatherings broke up by Saturday evening, while pedestrian traffic remained heavy at downtown bars and other party areas. There was an incident where police did arrest 23-year-old Codie Kress of Latrobe for driving under the influence and carrying a firearm without a license among other charges around 9:11 PM in the 600 block of Washington Street.
Citizens Ambulance did report that four of their eight calls were related to fights and alcohol around campus, three other calls to residence halls and one to the fitness center.
