A Florida man was arrested Thursday night after a brief chase in Indiana Borough.
State police say that at 9:59 PM on March 21st, a trooper on IUPatty’s detail was on Philadelphia Street when he saw a red Pontiac sedan speeding east directly in front of him. Troopers tried to pull them over for a traffic stop but the driver kept going, initiating a brief chase. During the chase, police say the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Brandon Michael Rosenberger of St. Petersburg, ran several red lights and drove on the wrong side of the road way before he was eventually pulled over on Church Street. After he pulled over, he got out of his car and tried to flee on foot. Officers continued to chase him and subdue him using their tasers.
Police believe Rosenberger was under the influence of Methamphetamine at the time and was believed to have been awake for five days.
Rosenberger was charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude police, misdemeanor evading arrest on foot, resisting arrest, DUI, along with a summary count of disorderly conduct and sixteen summary driving violations. He was arraigned and placed in Indiana County Jail on $50,000 cash bail, with a preliminary hearing set for April 2nd at 10:45 AM.
