Two people were arrested following an incident Thursday morning near Coral.
Indiana County Sheriff Bob Fyock said in a Facebook post that deputies were summoned to an unspecified area around 8:50 for a pickup truck parked along the road with a person who appeared to be in distress. While that person was being assisted, a woman exited a nearby home and got into the truck, reversed it, and fled the scene. She allegedly caused damage to the deputies’ car and several nearby yards during the incident.
The pursuit ensued, heading south on Route 119 until both jumped from the truck and initiated a foot chase with deputies and police officers from Homer City and Indiana Boroughs and state police from the Indiana barracks. Meanwhile, the getaway truck drove off the road and crashed into a nearby ditch.
Officers later caught up with them and took them both into custody. The woman was taken to Indiana County Jail and charges against her are pending. No details were released regarding the second person, and their identities along with additional information on the incident will be released later by state police.
