Indiana Regional Medical Center has announced that its Comprehensive Breast Center has maintained national accreditation for breast cancer care for the next three years.
The accreditation comes the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, which is administered by the American College of Surgeons. IRMC first received this title in 2021 and was the first hospital in the region to achieve this status. The accreditation occurs every three years, and the standards of this achievement addresses a center’s leadership, clinical services, research, professional education, community engagement and quality improvement for patients.
IRMC President and CEO Steve Wolfe said that they were very proud of the team for the achievement and that the team is “committed to providing outstanding patient care.” Dr. Dan Clark, the director of the Comprehensive Breast Center said he was proud to be the first hospital in the region to not only receive the recognition, but the first to have that recognition renewed.
