Indiana County’s Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate went unchanged over the month of November.
According to the department of Labor and Industry, the county’s unemployment rate remained at 4.7 percent. The state unemployment rate also held steady in November at a record low of 3.4 percent, while the national unemployment rate went down two-tenths of a point to 3.7 percent.
Indiana county’s rate was the highest in our region, Westmoreland and Armstrong counties tied for the lowest rate at 3.7 percent. Clearfield’s rate was 3.8 percent, and Jefferson and Cambria counties tied with a 4.4 percent rate.
The highest unemployment rate in the state is in Forest County with 5.7 percent, while Adams and Centre Counties tied for the lowest at 2.7 percent.
The total number of non-farm jobs in Indiana County went essentially unchanged over the month at 28.900 jobs. Jobs in the nine industry super-sectors were also unchanged over the month.
