First responders were busy for the first day of the new year.
A structure fire was reported late yesterday along Route 422 East in Pine Township. The Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, Vintondale and Hope fire departments along with Blacklick EMS and Cherry Tree Police were dispatched to the scene at 11:04 AM. Officials with the Pine Township fire department said that the departments were cancelled on the way to the scene due to it being a controlled burn and not a structure fire. A passerby saw smoke and called 911 without investigating further.
Indiana fire and police departments were called out at 7:45 last night for a transformer fire along Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough.
And a vehicle accident was reported at 8:14 Monday morning on Route 56 East in Brush Valley Township. Brush Valley Township Volunteer Fire Department and state police were called to the scene.
