A chase that involved a suspect in an incident at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe ended with the suspect apprehended in Blairsville.
Westmoreland County Park Police reported that the shooting happened at 1:40 PM on Friday at the airport. Park Police Captain Jeff Shearer said that it started after a box truck completed its business at the airport when the shots were fired toward the truck. The driver was not hurt and provided authorities with a description of the vehicle. He added that about five minutes after park police released the information to surrounding agencies, the suspect vehicle was spotted.
The chase ended with a crash on Walnut Street in Blairsville. There were no injuries reported and the suspect is now in custody in Westmoreland County.
The identity of the suspect and the charges he will face will be released after they are arraigned in Westmoreland County Court.
