Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections recently announced that SCI Pine Grove will undergo an emergency simulation early next week.
In a news release, Pine Grove Superintendent Mark Brothers said a major emergency exercise will commence Tuesday at 8 AM. The institution will be locked down at the time and operating under emergency procedures. Additionally, other law enforcement agencies and first responders will be on scene.
The community is reminded that this is an exercise and no one should be alarmed by the increased number of emergency personnel at the jail at that time.
