School boards across the county are going through their reorganization processes after last month’s election, and at the same time they are getting to work on the new fiscal budgets, which will be due by the end of June.
The Indiana Area board will meet tomorrow and those two items are on the agenda, along with a number of other issues, including an update on the Eisenhower Elementary School project.
Purchase Line’s school board will also reorganize tomorrow, and at a work session will review a list of 39 district policies up for consideration or review. The board will also get a look at the preliminary budget and consider a resolution to not raise taxes above the state index of 7.8 percent. Marion Center’s board meets tomorrow for reorganization as well.
The United board meets Tuesday to reorganize and hold a work session. Penns Manor’s board meets on Wednesday. River Valley’s board is scheduled to reorganize on Thursday. Homer-Center’s school board will meet on Thursday for reorganization, and then will hold a planning meeting and voting meeting on the same night.
Monday also marks the last full week of the IUP fall semester. Classes end next Monday, the 11th, with Finals scheduled the 12th through the 15th and winter commencement on the 16th.
