Indiana County has one team left playing playoff football and tonight the Purchase Line Red Dragons play Heritage Conference rival Cambria Heights for the District 6 Class A championship and a spot in the PIAA state tournament.
Both teams are 9-3. Purchase Line beat the Highlanders, 19-7 in the season opener. Brock Small ran for 99 yards and a touchdown and John Elick threw for 76 yards and a score.
The 2nd-seeded Red Dragons have beaten Mo Valley and Penns Manor in the playoffs. Cambria Heights are the 4th seed and have wins over West Branch and top seed Northern Cambria in the playoffs. Both teams avenged Week 10 losses to win their semifinal games last week.
Purchase Line coach Matt Falisec says Cambria Heights is big and tough on the line of scrimmage and they have great team speed.
Cambria Heights coach Jarrod Lewis says it’s hard to predict whether or not this will be a high-scoring game or a defensive tussle.
Tonight’s game is on Renda Digital TV and Cat Country, 106.3 FM. Kickoff is at 7 o’clock from Mansion Park in Altoona. We’re on the air at 6.
