Tied at 41 after three quarters, the IUP women inched ahead with a 6-2 run to start the final ten minutes and overcame a cold shooting night with defense and rebounding to edge Salem, 55-54. Rahmena Henderson led IUP with 14 points, Teirra Preston added 12, and Maria Cerro 10 for the Crimson Hawks.
IUP shot only 24-of-64 from the field for the game and was just 3-of-16 from beyond the arc. They were just 4-of-14 from the free throw line.
IUP will visit Fairmont State tomorrow night.
