State police have issued reports on several accidents that have occurred in the last week, including two last Sunday.
Police say the driver was cited for a moving violation after he crashed into a parked vehicle on Barr Slope Road in Green Township last Sunday shortly before 6 PM. 36-year-old Jeremy Murphy’s car went off the side of the road and hit an unattended Honda CRV, then continued into a ditch. Murphy fled the scene. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
No one was injured last Sunday evening when a coal truck sideswiped a parked coal truck on Old Route 119 in Center Township. Police the driver of the moving vehicle as 34-year-old Terry Ely Jr. of Westmoreland City.
No one was hurt on Tuesday afternoon when a car was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in front of the Burrell Township Walmart store. The offending vehicle was a silver pickup truck. Police searched the parking lot but could not find any clues. The driver of the car was not publicly identified.
