UPDATE: Two fire companies and Citizens Ambulance are on the scene of an accident this morning in Green Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Commodore Fire Department and Citizens Ambulance to a location at the intersection of Cypress and Cookport Roads. Clymer Fire Department was called in later to provide manpower and to set up a landing site for a medical helicopter. Clymer Fire Chief Brett Gromley said that the victim was using a climber to climb up a tree for hunting when he fell 25 feet to the ground. A friend with him was able to call for help, but because there was no cell service in the area, crews had a tough time finding the victim. After he was found, crews used two side-by-side UTV’s to transport the victim out of the woods.
The victim was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
