The president of Westmoreland County Community College has announced her resignation, which will go into effect at the end of the school year.
When Tuesday Stanley officially retires on June 30th of next year, she will have completed exactly ten years of service as the president of the community college, which has a branch campus in Indiana as part of the ICTC complex. As of right now, she is not leaving to take a position elsewhere. She did say that it was time for new leadership and new ideas.
During her tenure, the college has completed additions to the science center, a renovation of their student achievement center, and the addition of a career connections center. The college also expanded its College in High School program and added coordinated programs with universities across Western Pennsylvania, including IUP.
She said that she will miss the employees and students, and the connections in the community. A nationwide search for a new college president is underway and is expected to take several months.
