A record number of participants turned out for the 19th running of the Love of Life 5K in Indiana this morning.
In an interview on Indiana in the Morning yesterday, Heather Reed (posing with some kids in this picture) with the Indiana Healthcare Foundation announced that there would be a record-breaking number of participants. She confirmed that today, as 635 people took part in the run this morning. She said the rain did not dampen anyone’s spirits.
Among those survivors was Bonnie McCracken who is a one-year Breast Cancer survivor. She said she was running to show everyone that the survivors are out there.
While others, like Dennis Decker were running to pay tribute to family members who were diagnosed with breast cancer.
A second record was also broken for the number of participants on one team. That was Victorious Faith Warriors with 115 people taking part today.
The money will go to the Love of Life Campaign, which has a goal this year of raising money for a new ultrasound unit for the Women’s Imaging Center.
