The Fill the Bus drive to benefit the Chevy Chase Community Center got off to a great start earlier today, and there is still time to get your donation in.

The Indigo Bus parked at the S&T Bank Lot at 8th and Water Streets across from the Indiana Borough Municipal Building already had a lot of items packed in the back of the bus just 40 minutes into the event. Jennifer Rairigh with the Community Center said that the items were needed as even though the center is closed due to the investigation into the fatal shooting continues, the needs of the community continues to be felt.
Not only are non-perishable food items and cleaning materials being accepted, but cash donations are also welcomed. Renee Richardson of Indiana talked about the importance of the financial donations.
The event is being coordinated by the Community Center and by S&T Bank, and will run until 7:00 tonight.
