It was a busy day for Indiana County first responders with four incidents reported since 2:00 PM yesterday.
The first incident was a reported vehicle fire on Old Route 119 in White Township, with the Indiana Fire Association called out at 2:02 PM. The second fire call was for a brush fire on Rairigh Road in Grant Township. Commodore fire department was dispatched for that call at 4:21 PM. Clymer and Marion Center fire departments were called in to assist at 4:50 PM. Fire officials say that the resident was burning trash, and that turned into the brush fire that endangered a shed. No other details are available.
The third fire and second brush fire of the day came at 5:23 PM on Grange Hall Road in East Wheatfield Township. Armagh-East Wheatfield Township fire department was called out at the time, marking the second brush fire in the area in as many days. Seward Fire Department was called in to assist at 5:48 PM.
This marks a total of 70 brush fire calls this year in Indiana County.
The only other report was a physical rescue on West Penn Trail in Conemaugh Township. Tunnelton and Saltsburg fire departments were dispatched at 9:43 PM.
