On Tuesday night, the Indiana Borough Council heard an update on the plans to update the George E. Hood borough building.
The design process has been going on for the last nine months to upgrade the HVAC system, install new windows, and make it ADA compliant. Borough Manager Nicole Sipos says they will put a request for bids for the project out for bid on October 18th. While the project has started off at a quick pace, Sipos said the actual work on the building could take a year to complete.
In other business, Donald Lancaster with the Public Safety Committee announced that they are looking for people to serve as crossing guards. Lancaster said that two guards retired in the last year. He said that the police department has tried to recruit some people but have received no response.
Anyone interested in becoming a crossing guard should call the police department at 724-349-2121.
