Indiana County 911 reported the fire at 8:09 AM at a home along Green Street near the intersection with Iselin Road. Iselin-West Lebanon, Coal Run-McIntyre, Tunnelton, Elderton, Aultman and Kiski fire departments were dispatched to the scene initially, with Black Lick, New Alexandria, Parks Township and West Leechburg fire departments called in about a half-hour later. Both Citizens and LifeStat ambulance services were on-scene, along with the RIT team.
Iselin-West Lebanon Fire Chief Brian Schirato said that flames were visible when crews arrived. He said the main reason why he called all the fire departments out was because of a lack of available manpower.
He added that another problem crews had was with water supplies.
Two people living in the house got out unscathed, but a few pets were lost in the fire. The house is gutted. The family is being assisted by the Salvation Army.
