At a meeting this morning, Indiana County Commissioners approved tabling bids concerning the repurposing of a student housing facility.
The Office of Planning and Development, the Indiana County Development Corporation and Architectural firm Stiffler-McGraw all recommended that the Commissioners table all bids connected with the removal of Carriage House and Essex House and disposal of asbestos materials. Planning and Development Executive Director Byron Stauffer said that there was not enough time between when the bids were opened and today’s meeting to examine the bids thoroughly. Stauffer also said that they are considering some options for the future use of that land off Oakland Avenue.
In other business, the Commissioners approved a resolution approving the project scope and 3-year-plan of the County-wide needs priorities for the 2023 Non-Entitlement CDBG application. The county will submit the ICCAP Food Bank facility rehabilitation project for the 2023 CDBG funds.
