At Tuesday’s meeting, Blairsville Borough Council approved putting an ordinance concerning vacant commercial buildings up for review and advertisement.
According to Council President John Bertolino, it is meant to get building owners to rehab and occupy the buildings so they do not remain vacant and go into decay. While it is meant to prevent buildings from deteriorating, Bertolino said it also defines the process.
The new ordinance could be approved as soon as next month’s meeting.
In other business, the borough gave Public Works Manager Dave Fairman the authority to dispose of a street sweeping vehicle.
