WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
Several sentencing hearings are on the Indiana County Court schedule for today. One will be for a Blairsville man charged following an investigation last June.
Court documents say 69-year-old William Rodkey of Blairsville will go before President Judge Thomas Bianco at 8:30 this morning for his hearing. He faces a felony corruption of minors charge along with misdemeanor charges of indecent assault and indecent exposure for incident that happened between 2009 and 2021.
State police say they were notified through a Child Welfare Report of possible sexual assaults of three young girls aged 10 years old or younger in East Wheatfield Township. The victims said Rodkey exposed himself and/or had indecent contact with them, and he was charged following an investigation.
Also due for sentencing is 21-year-old Ahmad Jahiem Evans, who faces two felony charges of receiving stolen property, a felony charge of illegal possession of a firearm and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, terroristic threats, and illegal possession of a firearm for an incident dating back to October 14, 2022.
Indiana Borough Police responded to a home in the 600 block of Gompers Avenue around 4 AM for reports of a man threatening multiple people with a handgun. When they got there, officers identified Evans as the suspect. A search warrant was later executed on his home and police found several firearms inside.
